Department of Biology visits Tokyo University of Agriculture
On 2025年5月30日 by yamamurakokusaiIt`s the Biology Club! On Friday, May 23rd, we visited Professor Satoshi Watanabe of the Graduate School at Tokyo University of Agriculture (Setagaya).
The purpose of the visit was to attend the “Special Lecture on Cellular and Molecular Function Science I” at the graduate school, as the content is similar to the new research content* of the first-year club members.
The lecture was given by Professor Kotaro Kiga of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, and it was related to the treatment of diseases using a certain microorganism, which gave us some hints for new research content. In addition, Professor Watanabe of the Department of Biosciences, who is an expert in a field related to the research content, gave us a wide range of guidance in the lab on the preparation of materials and reagents, as well as culture methods.
Despite their busy schedules, we were able to spend a very meaningful time with both professors and everyone in the lab. Thank you very much.
*: The research content is currently underway. Details are scheduled to be announced at the “15th High School Student Bio Summit in Tsuruoka: Keio University Advanced Life Sciences, Tsuruoka City” to be held in August.
