Biology Club participates in “Science Farm 2025”!
On 2025年8月5日 by yamamurakokusaiThe Biology Club participated in Science Farm 2025 (sponsored by Rakuno Gakuen University), held in Sapporo from Saturday, August 2nd to Sunday, August 3rd. On the 2nd, 87 presentations (38 web presentations) were gathered from across Hokkaido and the country. Each group was divided into three groups and gave oral presentations (evaluations will be announced at a later date). Between presentations, students were given special Rakuno Gakuen ice cream, providing a moment of relaxation after a tense period.
The following day, the 3rd, the weather was pleasant compared to Saitama, with rainy skies early in the morning, but clear skies and temperatures of 30°C. Our school participated in an environmental analysis mission using a drone. This involved photographing animals in their natural habitat from the air and instantly obtaining data such as population numbers through AI analysis*. Club members tried their hand at piloting the drone and conducting simulated data analysis using an app. Drone piloting seemed difficult, but with careful instruction, they were able to actively participate in the mission. After the mission, we were even able to be interviewed by Science Farm’s public relations team, making for a very fulfilling two days. Thank you very much.
*Rakuno Gakuen University is developing an app that counts the number of waterfowl (white-fronted geese) using images taken by drones, and the app is available free of charge online.
